Simona Venslovaite

She started playing the violin at the age of five. After winning two national competitions in the following years, she was invited to move from her hometown Pasavalys to study the violin at the National Art School M. K. Ciurlionis in Vilnius. The violinist completed her studies in 2011 at the Vilnius Music and Theater Academy (violin class Prof. U. Jagelaite) and in 2016 bachelor's degree in chamber music from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the class of Prof. Johannes Meissl.

The violinist has won many national and international competitions: B. Dvarionas (Lithuania), R. Katilius (Lithuania), “Music Without Borders” (Estonia), V. Radovicius (Lithuania) G. Enescu (Romania), B. Dvarionas ( Lithuania), A. Dombrovski (Latvia).

Im Lauf ihrer Karriere konzertierte sie regelmäßig in Litauen sowie in verschiedenen anderen europäischen Ländern. Als Solistin und Mitglied von Kammerbesetzungen hat sie in Lettland, Österreich, Deutschland, Portugal, Schweiz, Schweden, Frankreich und England gespielt. In Litauen trat sie mit den wichtigsten Orchestern als Solistin auf.

Simona got her first job as a first violinist in Vilnius Šv. Kristofora's chamber orchestra, in which she played by invitation during her last year of study. In 2011 she won the audition for a position as a violinist in Gidon Kremer's Kremerata Baltica Orchestra, in which she played until 2015. From 2016 to 2018 she was the first violinist to play in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Simona is currently a member of the ensemble XX. jahrhundert led by Peter Burwik. Century ’for New Music in Vienna and in 2018 she won the permanent position in the Munich Chamber Orchestra.
